Bochdalek Hernia in an 83-Year-Old Ex-Pulmonology Nurse

Abstract Bochdalek hernia (BH) represents the herniation of abdominal visceral components through a discontinuity between lateral (costal) and posterior (crural) diaphragm. With an incidence directly proportional to age, it is rare in adults, with reported frequencies specialized literature ranging from 0.17% 6% all diaphragmatic hernias, most common type congenital hernia, affecting left hemidiaphragm 85% cases (1,2) . The authors describe case 83-year-old patient, former nurse pneumology department, diagnosed which mimicked suspicious neoplastic lung mass. patient's clinical context conducted investigations established benign etiology formation, without requiring further surgical intervention. Additionally, we provide brief review medical on this topic, radiological approaches, importance differential diagnosis.
